How To Find Us
Trujillo has excellent road and public transport connections to our nearest international airport, Madrid's Adolfo Suarez
Options for the 268km (167miles) journey include

Direct Madrid – Trujillo Bus
This is our preferred method of travel
Avanzabus run multiple direct Madrid – Trujillo services daily from Adolfo Suarez Airport Terminal 4, and the main “Estación Sur” in Méndez Álvaro
If you’re flying in we recommend arriving 3 hours before your bus and flight connection in either direction
On arrival we will meet you at the bus station and escort you to your hotel, and later to the yoga retreat centre
Recommended Bus Services
Avanzabus run multiple daily bus services 7 days a week. Check times and fares and buy advance tickets via their multi-language website
There is a single 11:00 service from Adolfo Suzrez Airport Terminal 5
All other services depart from Madrid's central bus station: Estación Sur in Méndez Álvaro
You can buy tickets in advance from Avanzabus' multi-language website. The main arrival-departure board displays information in English and Spanish. Buses for Trujillo display their final destination in either Badajoz, Cáceres or Lisbon
At the time of writing a standard one-way Madrid-Trujillo ticket sells for €28.86
Get To Estación Sur
You can get to Mendez Álvaro on the Madrid metro. The metro station of the same name is on the circular line 6. You can download a pdf Madrid Metro map here
An metered taxi will charge you a flat fare of €33. Please use only official licenced vehicles from the taxi rank at arrivals
All buses stop briefly at Navalmoral De La Mata for refreshment. We have omitted the slow stopping services, which we strongly recommend against
On Arrival In Trujillo
Some hotels, including our featured yoga accommodation El Baciyelmo and the four-star option Eurosars, offer a shuttle service to and from Trujillo's bus station. Otherwise we will meet you on arrival and walk you to your hotel
A complimentary buffet style supper is served at the yoga studio between 7 and 9pm so you can satisfy any post-travel hunger pangs and learn the location of yoga studio, ready to start your yoga practice the following morning

Shared Taxi
We can arrange an airport transfer from Madrid to Trujillo by private car. At the time writing the cost of the 269km /167 mile trajectory was €350 compared with €400+ for a standard taxi
A licensed Spanish and English speaking taxi driver, Alfonso will pick you up at 17:00h from the meeting point at Terminal 5, or some other pre-arranged time & place. The drop off point is the yoga studio, from which all our featured accommodations are a few minutes' walk
Self-Drive
With prices for car rental starting at £41 for 3 days, self driving is an option to consider
Trujillo is off the A5 trunk road (Carretera de Extremadura) connecting Madrid to Lisbon via Badajoz, 269km (167miles) from Madrid airport
From the airport, follow the circular M40 clockwise (south-westerly) for the A5 to Badajoz. Look out for the Trujillo turn-off on your right, 35km after crossing the Miravete tunnel
Check if your hotel provides private parking facilities. On arrival we'll meet you at your hotel and escort you to the yoga retreat centre
